Actively developing his career in the oil and gas industry, Gideon Powell recently joined Cholla Petroleum, Inc. His responsibilities with the company entail assisting with new ventures, researching and reviewing acquisitions, and working with business development and project management initiatives. Since joining the company, Gideon Powell has contributed to the development of several oil and gas aquisitions and has helped to identify prospects in underutilized areas.

Cholla Petroleum is a family-owned oil and gas company founded in 1943. The company has primarily focused on drilling in the Eastern Shelf and North Texas. Recently, the company has begun to expand its drilling operations into the Permian Basin. Gideon Powell earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance at Baylor University. Early in his career, he gained experience in the oil and gas industry working with companies including Tasajillo Drilling Company and Anthem Oil & Gas, Inc. While with Anthem, he concentrated on mineral acquisition projects. Through his work in the oil industry, Gideon Powell earned a position on the board of The Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.

An active member of his local community, Gideon Powell volunteers with CHAMPS Camp, a free camp for students in the Dallas area. He also works with children with life-threatening health problems as a volunteer at Camp John Marc. Gideon Powell also attends Park Cities Baptist Church and enjoys staying active through fishing, hunting, and welding. He played lacrosse while in college and remains a sports enthusiast.
